Before I begin: Bugherd the bug tracker is still (and always will be) called Bugherd. You are still our BugHerders, and we still love tracking bugs! The following update refers to our broader vision as a brand, and explains why our business name has changed to Macropod Software.Bugherd (the product) did a lot of things for a lot of people. Developers loved it for the screenshots it provided with bug reports. Clients loved it for giving quick, easy feedback on web builds. Site owners loved it for getting consistent feedback from end-users. Project managers loved it for keeping tabs on all their projects. But the reality is that it didn't do any of those things as well as we'd like. A one-size fits all solution was just too hard to deliver. So we decided to take the best elements from Bugherd and turn them into their own apps, we can then focus on delivering the right value to the right people.Of course we can't have 4 products called Bugherd and not confuse the heck out of everyone, so we decided to change our company name to Macropod, but still retain Bugherd as the product name. We're in the process of releasing several new products, all of which are BugHerd at heart but are branded to be more clearly focused on their individual task.Working with Clients?Brief, is basically a simplified, hosted version of Bugherd. From design through to build, Brief is *all about the client*. It allows you to produce assets and deliverables and upload them to a place where you can get feedback and approval from the client. They don't need to install anything an they don't need to learn any new tools. It's the simple feedback from BugHerd in a friendly, easy to understand interface. Brief is currently in private beta.Managing development tasks? We've taken the Bugherd task board and made it even more awesome. If you love the Bugherd task board but wished you could create columns, have project dashboard, work across multiple projects at once...then Stack is for you. Stack is a developer-first task board designed for flexibility and simplicity. Stack is available now, and is a flat $5 per user.Doing QA or reporting bugs?If you loved our way we made logging bug reports so easy, then Bugherd is still the tool for you. It's now more powerful and more focused on the developer. You get all the power of our old bug reporting tool, but now with the flexibility of being able to send your bugs to your favourite bug tracker. Right now we support Stack, Github Issues, Pivotal Tracker, Trello and JIRA, but we have a heap more on the horizon. It's hands down, the best way to report web issues and the best news is that for public projects, it's now free! The new BugHerd is also in private beta, and you can sign up for an invite here.We have more exciting stuff in the pipeline, but this is a pretty good overview of our immediate roadmap. If you're not already on our beta list for Bugherd or Brief, I highly recommend signing up now as invites are first come first served!
But don't just take our word for it.
BugHerd is loved by 10,000+ companies,
350,000+ users across 172 countries.
