What’s QA?
QA stands for quality assurance. For software or website purposes, QA is done within a team to ensure that the software or website is working properly, has no bugs and the code works the way it’s intended to.
How does BugHerd help with QA?
BugHerd makes it easy to pinpoint bugs in websites and web applications. BugHerd also captures information such as browser, Operating system, screen resolution and CSS selector data, which makes it easy for developers to pinpoint and replicate bugs. This makes it easier to fix any problems with the website.
What’s UAT or UAT testing?
UAT stands for User Acceptance Testing, so technically, you don’t need to add “testing” to the end of it. For software development and websites, UAT usually follows after QA. It’s a chance for users and stakeholders to make sure the software or website is fit for purpose. That means, it does what it’s meant to do in the way it’s meant to do it.
How does BugHerd help with UAT?
BugHerd makes UAT simple by letting users pin feedback to the website as they’re reviewing it. BugHerd also captures screenshots and technical feedback for users, so you don’t need to follow up with “What browsers are you using” style questions.
Does BugHerd include screenshots?
Yes, BugHerd snaps a screenshot of each bug as you report it. This helps whoever is fixing the bug to know exactly where the bug is and what is happening.
What technical information does BugHerd capture?
In addition to a screenshot, BugHerd captures which operating system and browser the reporter is using. BugHerd also captures screen resolution, making it easy to see if the issue is desktop or mobile based. BugHerd also captures the page URL of the bug and selector information, making it easy to pinpoint bugs.
Do I need to install anything?
There’s two ways to set BugHerd up to get feedback on a website. You can embed a JavaScript snippet into the “head” of your website or you can install a browser extension to your preferred browser.
Where is the feedback sent?
BugHerd turns the feedback provided into tasks on a kanban style Task Board. Using the Task Board, you can sort, assign and track tasks to completion.
Can I integrate BugHerd to my existing tools like JIRA or Slack?
BugHerd integrates natively with Slack, GitHub and Wordpress. Using Zapier or Integromat, you can integrate BugHerd with thousands of other tools, including Jira, Asana, Trello and many other project management tools.
