BugHerd needs a Ruby developer

In 2011, BugHerd burst on to the scene as one of the up and coming Australian startups. 8 years later, the gloss has worn off a little (and we didn’t quite make the unicorn club), but what is left is a remarkably resilient SaaS product in need of a safe pair of hands to steer it well into the future.

We want someone who can solve problems creatively, navigate a mature code base and knows the difference between busy work and valuable work. Even though BugHerd has been around for a while, this is not a maintenance gig, there is real value to be added!

We would love you to be in Melbourne but it’s no deal breaker. However, you do need to be able to engage with the team on an AEST timezone.

You will know your way around:

  • Ruby/Rails
  • Postgres
  • Heroku
  • Bonus points awarded for JS, SASS, DevOps

What we offer:

  • Autonomy, Mastery, Purpose (Google it)
  • Excellent working conditions
  • 8 weeks of parental leave and flexible work-from-home arrangements
  • A competitive salary
  • Remote is cool
  • Part-time is also cool

We are a small team (5-6) with clear targets and lots to get done. We are looking for someone with 5-10 years experience and are flexible with hours so if you want to work part-time or from home, we’re cool with that.

Want to spend more time with the family? Have side project that you need to support with an ongoing income? Looking for some stability in life and to get away from contracting?

We can help.

If you want to help transform the future of one of Australia’s early startup successes while maintaining a healthy work-life balance then we would love to have a conversation.
