This post is part of our “Mega Ultra Super BugHerd Update” series this week. These awesome new features will be released next week. Stay tuned! Some of you are logging a bazillion bugs on your projects and we’re rapt to know that BugHerd is becoming an integral part of your web dev process. That’s why we’ve been programming furiously every day to make your herding experience faster, easier and more awesome. We hope you enjoy the latest update: brand, spanking new search functions in the admin system!
Ye good ol’ search bar
There’s no need to wade through a giant list of bugs anymore – you can now use the search bar to bring up tasks based on keywords, assignment, priority, tags (more on this next!) or any combination of these! Search also supports wildcards and RegEx searching. You can even find tasks that match a certain URL – eg. Keying in bugherd.com/projects/* will show all the bugs matching that URL.
Tag, you’re it!
You can now add multiple tags to a task for any purpose that takes your fancy. You can do this quickly and easily from the sidebar or the admin page. Tags are a handy way for you to keep track of features, variations, tag sprints, versions and target releases. For all you lazy herders, we even autocomplete tags for you as you type, so you won’t mess ‘em up!
The left hand side of the admin lists your project members, guests and most frequently used tags. With just one click on a user’s name, you can bring up all the tasks assigned to them, or click on a tag to show up related tasks. Do a super combo and bring up a list of user’s tasks based on a particular tags!
So that’s a wrap! Give the new search functions a whirl and if you have any questions, check out our walkthrough or drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
