We've had a new feature under wraps in beta testing for a few months now, and today we finally take the covers off. The BugHerd public feedback widget is now live for all users! For many BugHerd customers, this will become the default way you'll get your website feedback. Of course you can still give your clients/users/team more access to your project by inviting them as guests or as members. For example, if you need your team to have an overview of all the goings-on, you'll want to add them as a member. If your client wants to keep track of all the issues they've reported, you'll want to add them as a guest. Everyone else, just let them use the default "send feedback" widget.
This now means you can get your QA team reporting issues without needing an account, your client can submit feedback without needing to know what this BugHerd thing is, your end users can let you know when something's broken and your beta users can help you improve your product. Best of all this feature is free to all of our users!
This feature is enabled by default for all new projects. You can also enable it for existing projects in the edit project menu for your project:
and then click "I only want feedback from people I invite":
There's a similar option for new projects:
This will disable the feedback tab for anyone that you haven't explicitly invited through the admin interface (useful if you're doing testing on a live site and don't want end-users giving feedback).
We'd love to hear your feedback, so please let us know how you go by posting here or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: the "we Herd it" isn't a typo...it's just a really bad pun.
